Janette Hayhoe has a B.A. from Queen's University, Canada and a diploma in design from The International Academy of Design. She has studied painting and drawing in the classical vein since 1993 in Toronto under Graham Bibby at the Studio Academy and John Viljoen at The Avenue Road Art School.   In 2005, she studied with Ted Seth Jacobs at L' Ecole Albert Dufois in France.  Janette works in oil creating representational style portraits, still lives, landscapes and figurative works.  Janette has shown her work locally and has completed several  commissions.

The creative process gives the artist the opportunity to contemplate and reflect on our surroundings.  Our world, be it of objects or ideas, elicits an emotional response which the artist endeavors to communicate through their chosen medium.  Through my work in oils, I wish to portray familiar scenes or objects in a manner that highlights their inherent beauty and simplicity while paying homage to the value of craftsmanship and validating the importance of representational works.  This process allows the artist to communicate with the viewer through a visual and aesthetic language which is universally understood.
